MORTON CASUALTIES

Private George Joseph Randle, a son of Mr & Mrs Wm Randle, of Main Road, Morton, who, as announced in one issue of last week, had been wounded in the back and was an inmate of a military hospital in Edinburgh, is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. Formerly a miner at the Morton Colliery , he joined The Colours on August 31st , 1915, and serving in the Dardanelles and in Egypt prior to being drafted out to France. He enlisted in the Sherwood Foresters and was subsequently transferred to a Trench Mortar Battery. His many friends in the village and surrounding district will be pleased to learn that he is not only doing well, but is also cheery, as he has received the best care from the doctors and nurses in hospital.
